Youth Leadership Carroll County
The Carroll County Chamber of Commerce first established the Leadership Carroll County program in 1990 with the goal of cultivating leadership qualities in community leaders and youth. Since then, there have been almost 1,000 graduates from LCC and YLCC.
In 1999, the decision was made to divide Youth Leadership Carroll County into a separate program.
YLCC classes are composed of five high school students per school, for a total of 25 students. In four sessions throughout the year, participants will receive presentations on skill development and leadership, and opportunities to tour local businesses.
Presentation topics include:
- Money management
- Local shopping
- Volunteerism
- Education
- Business ownership
Sessions take place during the school day to ensure students are able to participate in any after-school extracurriculars.
